II. Speeding your paint job when working with a paint contractor
- Make color selections well in advance.
- Move furniture that interferes with painting.
- Remove pictures, drapes, etc. from walls.
III. Selecting your paint contractor
- Obtain a signed, written contract outlining work and price specifications.
- A very low bid may be an indication of inferior workmanship or use of inferior products. Obtain at least 3 bids on identical specifications.
- Insist the contractor use top quality materials such as Benjamin Moore & Co. products.
- Verify three references, recent ones and one several years old.
- Hire a professional paint contractor who, along with his crew, is neat in appearance.
- Verify your contractor is fully insured.
- Show bidding contractor paint selection to determine number of coats needed.
